How I love the three states that comprise the Western US. This beautiful picture of Mount Shuksan (near Bellingham, WA) was taken a month ago, at the halfway point of an eight-week stretch of nautical studies in Seattle. I happily concluded this latest “shore phase” with a solo transit of the Shetland Islands in the tugboat bridge simulator at PMI last wednesday, and then with my best friend next to me in the passenger seat of my Land Cruiser (odo reading 269k miles and counting), I made the drive first to Portland, OR where we visited with my aunt and her husband, and the next day completed the journey south to the SF Bay Area.
As usual I was too focused on school to be punctual with my posts but I’ll try and see what I can dig up here while I take the next couple of weeks off.
