South for the Winter

This week I’m working in San Francisco Bay on a boat that moves mostly oil barges (though we just finished up an assist on a car ship in Richmond – there is some variety depending on which boats are available) and I have to say, working here doesn’t feel like work, it just feels like life. It must be all the sunshine.

On another note, as of next thursday I will have 360 days of sea time, meaning that by the time I’m finished with license prep in March I’ll be eligible to sit for a mate’s license (which has been the sole objective of the last two years). I’m excited!
